Automobiles/Petting zoo

The Rose Room children have been very interested in automobiles/transportation lately. They absolutely love playing with cars, trucks, trains, planes, etc. The kids gravitate towards these toys and have such a great time playing that when it's time to clean up, they're just not ready to stop playing with the cars :) We have been bringing cars and trucks into our activity time each day and the kids are really loving it!

The children really enjoyed the petting zoo we had and they got to pet each animal! We had bunnies, chickens, a goat, guinea pigs, and a donkey named Henry, which they love to see every time he comes. They got to brush his tail! Thank You to Connor and Sophie's mom for helping us out that day at the petting zoo!

Pancake and Pajama day, Airplanes!

We had our pajama day in Rose Room, where all our friends got to come to school in their pajamas! It was so nice to see all of our friends participating in this fun school event. The kids enjoyed looking at their friends pajamas and what character was on their pajamas! The teachers even got in on the fun and wore their pajamas as well :) That day we all got to make pancakes and afterwards we got to eat some with syrup! The kids had fun taking turns shaking the batter around with the water and then watching the pancakes cook on the stove. The kids loved eating the pancakes!

Going along with our automobiles theme, the children got to make their very own airplanes. We made the airplanes out of Popsicle sticks and the kids really enjoyed and took their time gluing each piece on. After the glue dried on our airplanes, the kids then got to paint their airplane! The painting then turned into finger and body painting! They had so much fun with it and it was a very fun activity that we did :)

Farm Animals/ Jersey Day

The kids have been very interested in farm animals lately. The farm animal basket is a huge hit for the kids and they have been picking that basket out first before anything else. One of our must sing songs at circle time is "Old McDonald had a farm." We read a book about milking cows and how to get milk from the cows' udder. We thought it would be fun to let the kids see what it is like to milk a cow.

"Mouse Paint" is a book that is very popular with the kids in our room. It's a good way to practice our colors and learn what colors the paint makes when we mix them together. We did an art activity with colors red, yellow, and blue. We mixed them together and the kids thought it was so neat to see the different colors they made.


















This month we also had a jersey day for the children, they loved it. Each child got to wear their favorite sports team jersey/shirt. They were so happy to talk about their favorite sports team and show their friends their shirts.
