Autumn in Rose Room: Sept 15

Fall is upon us and leaves are turning colors!

Our friends had lots of fun today as they explored sensory bins: one filled with yellow rice, little pumpkins, colorful fall leaves, gourds, etc. The other bin was filled with water beads of yellow, red, purple, and orange.

This fantastic sensory experience never gets old. Afterward, our friends had fun working on a collaborative art project. Two large poster boards were placed on the table where friends had the opportunity to experience drawing and smudging with colorful, soft chalk pastels. Once they were finished, Teacher Rosemary put dots of India ink on each poster, and children got to use a hair dryer as a tool to move the ink around.

The final step: small pieces of fall colored leaves were sprinkled down onto the paper, creating a beautiful "fall tree" effect.

Enjoy,
Teacher Rosemary
